Thank you for participating this November!
winner's certificate + a note from Rough Draft HQ
You did it!
First of all, I want to say that I am incredibly grateful for and proud of our community. We broke a record for participation this year and had so much amazing activity in our Discord and on our leaderboards. Personally, this was my (Lucie’s) 14th attempt at a creative challenge in November and I succeeded in my goal of writing 50,000 words. I couldn’t have done it without the encouragement of my creative friends and communities, including the RDMO Discord.
Secondly, I want to apologize for a lack of engagement from myself and the other RDMO admins this year. For personal reasons, one of our admins decided to step back from the project, leaving just Sara and myself.
I’ll attach a statement directly Sara below, but she has had to temporarily step back to take care of family. As for me, I found myself in the middle of moving houses and starting a new job in November while also dealing with life issues that made it difficult to keep our social channels running. We know that the silence from us might have been discouraging, but we are so grateful for the members of our community that kept the spirit alive all month. Thank you for sticking with us!
Lastly, CONGRATULATIONS to those of you finished your November goals. Thank you again for participating, and I hope that RDMO was helpful to you and your project.
The winner’s certificate is attached, so you can download it directly from this email. Congrats, again!
Here’s a separate message from Sara:
Congratulations to everyone for taking the space and time to work on your goals this month! Unfortunately, November has been a hard month for me. My mother experienced some complications and has been in and out of the hospital. I have not been available due to this continuing emergency and I do apologize.
I am hoping for healing and rest for all of us as we head into December, and better opportunities for all of us to be present in the future.
Thank you for your patience and congratulations on the good work you have done no matter where you landed—whether its 100%, 10%, etc.
Thank you again!
Regardless of how much time you spent with your project, whether you won or not, you made a choice to devote time to creativity in November. You should congratulate yourself for that! The world needs your story, your art, and your presence. My favorite thing about Rough Draft Month is that it forces me to be intentional about my time and energy. I think that’s a skill worth practicing, even if the end result isn’t what we thought it would be.
Talk soon!
